Types of cancer
There are two main types of cancer: solid tumors and blood cancers. Solid tumors arise and are named based on a specific organ, such as breast cancer, colon cancer, kidney cancer, and lung cancer. On the other hand, blood cancers are related to the activity of the immune system and are named according to the blood component affected, for example, leukemia (a cancer of the bone marrow) or lymphoma (a cancer of the lymphatic system).
